WELCOME

Welcome to Kiveton Park Primary Care Centre.

We have 2 surgeries at Kiveton Park and Harthill.

The surgeries have full access for disabled patients.

TRAINING PRACTICE

We are a Training Practice for qualified doctors intending to become General Practitioners. A General Practice Associate in Training is usually here to gain experience of general practice. They may be sitting in with the doctor, nurse or other members of our team here during your consultation: you will be informed if this is the case. As their training progresses they will hold their own surgeries under the supervision of their trainer, Dr David Tooth. If you have any objection to this please let us know. On occasion surgeries will be video-taped for training purposes but only with the signed consent of the patients involved at the time. To help maintain the high standards expected in this training work the practice will be inspected by other doctors from time to time. This inspection will include looking at some medical records. If you do not wish your records to be used for this purpose please let reception know.

A similar scheme allows hospital doctors (who may or may not go on to become General Practitioners) experience in family medicine – this is called the Foundation Year 2 rotation. Drs Neil Thorman and John Reid are Tutors for the F2 scheme and we usually have a new F2 Trainee every 4 months.

We have also joined with Sheffield University in the training of medical students. At times throughout the year students may be attached to the practice to gain experience of general practice. A student may also be sitting in with the doctor, nurse or other member of our team during your consultation: you will be informed if this is the case. If you have any objection please let us know - we fully appreciate that there are times when you may not want a stranger present.
