All your medication is recorded on our practice computer which routinely checks for interactions and allergies. If you are on regular long-term medicine, you may be issued with a computer order form (repeat slip). The repeat slip lists all the medicines that we are happy to issue without your having to see us. Please tick the box beside JUST those that you need on each occasion. Post or deposit the computerised slip in the box provided in the entrance porch at Kiveton or the window at Harthill.

It takes TWO WORKING DAYS to produce a new prescription (released after 5pm) or dispense medication, but we can sometimes rush this a little if you explain the need to reception. We usually issue a single month's supply of medication in line with NHS guidance so even if you are on several different treatments it should be possible for you to make a single monthly request. Requests for repeat medication should not be made over the telephone as there is more likelihood of a mistake with the prescription.

Queries about routine medication can be dealt with by our dispensing staff at Harthill or by our treatment room assistants Karen & Jayne at Kiveton (leave a message via Reception and they'll get back to you, or come into surgery between 11.30-12.30 or 2.00-4.00 but please don't just drop in out of these hours hoping they'll be free unless it is very urgent).

Dispensing Patients
If you live more than a mile from a chemist, you may obtain your medicines from our dispensary at Harthill. This generally means patients who live in Harthill, Woodall, Thorpe Salvin and Kiveton Park Station. Unless you request otherwise we will issue the relevant medicines rather than a prescription if you have seen the doctor at the Harthill Surgery.

Medication Reviews
The doctors regularly review the records of patients on long-term medication so don’t be alarmed if you are asked to make an appointment to discuss your treatment. You might also be asked to attend for routine blood tests, in which case the relevant form should be with the request letter.
